A really versatile coffee, and a prime example of the balanced, nutty sweetness found in washed coffees from El Salvador. From the fragrance to the cup, the sweetness reads like brown sugar and almond meal, then lands in the brew as a molasses walnut bread profile. Chocolate flavors are soft in the lighter roasts; the cup is more about the interplay of raw sugar and roasted nuts, with a hint of acidity that augments the milky body. A darker roast packs in a range of chocolate flavors, bittering but well-balanced, with a walnut accent in the finish. It also makes a classic-toned single origin espresso — dark cocoa sweetened by notes of almond milk, burnt sugar, and Brazil nut. Wet process, patio sun-dried, SHG grade, GrainPro-lined, Farm Gate sourced.
